My name is Maribel Torres, owner/operator of Iron Paw Kennel.  In addition to breeding German Shepherds, I am a Certified Professional Behavior Specialist and Dog Trainer (CCTA, CCDT), Service dog Trainer (ABCSDT), First Aid and CPR certified and AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.  

 

Iron Paw Kennel is located in East Tennessee and breeds working German Shepherds.  Our dogs are powerful with stable temperament and sound bodies (hips and elbows certified through OFA).  They all come from imported European bloodlines and are AKC registered.  The puppies are off to a great start and have had exposure to life experiences, obedience, crate training, and have started housebreaking.  They all are up-to-date on their vaccinations, dewormers, are microchipped, and also have AKC registration.

Our Service dogs are physically capable of the work required by the handler. They are healthy, have a great temperament, and very loving. Our dogs are perfect for people that suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), including wartime veterans, other military personnel, first responders, police officers, victims of childhood/domestic abuse or other violent crimes, and anyone experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event.

Our PTSD Service Dogs can help with individuals to prevent withdrawing from life and isolating themselves, depression, paranoia, substance abuse, nightmares, flashbacks or becoming abusive. Partnering with one of our Service Dogs provides security, companionship, can significantly lower the frequency and/or severity of mental disorders, and improve the quality of life.

Why this is so important to me? Because I myself, family, and friends have experienced or are currently experiencing some or all of these symptoms. I have seen great improvements in these individuals and myself when partnering with our great dogs.
